Triple Scroll Acanthus Dining Table Base
The stylized acanthus decorations that are so prominetly used in Greco-Roman architecture has humble beginnings. It was first used on a Corinthian column in the Temple of Apollo Epicurius at around 450 BC. For the Romans, it was their favorite style or order for their biggest buildings. This piece embellishes this very style, with acanthus leaves hanging from each leg.
