S Hermes Bust
In Greek mythology, Hermes is the son of Zeus and Maia. He is also known as Mercury to Roman peoples and Hermes was also known as Argeiphontes, the Slayer of Argos. He is Zeus's messenger, and is te is fastest of the gods. He wears winged sandals, a winged hat, and carries a magic staff named the Caduceus. He is the god of thieves and god of commerce, while also being the guide for the dead to go to the underworld. He invented the lyre, the pipes, the musical scale, astronomy, weights and measures, boxing, gymnastics, and the care of olive trees. This Greek Hermes statue is a tribute to the myth of the Roman God Mercury.
